Biography:
Janina Gajska- Bruzdowicz graduated from the Department of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture of the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Poznań, Poland with an honours degree in 1975 under the tuition of prof. Olgierd Truszyński. From 1975 to 1985 she worked as an academic teacher in the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Poznań. From 1988-2012 she worked in the Secondary School of Visual Arts in Gdynia, Poland. She has participated in solo exhibitions in the Arts Factory in Tczew, Poland (2007); the St. Mary’s Gallery in Gdańsk, Poland (2006); the BPH Bank in Gdynia (1997); the Association of Polish Artists and Designers Gallery in Gdańsk, Poland (1992); the Rathaus Gallery in Mannheim, Germany (1991); the Bazart Gallery in Poznań, Poland (1984); the “Nova” Gallery in Poznań, Poland (1980). She has taken part also in several dozens of group exhibitions in Dworek Sierakowskich in Sopot, Poland (2010, 2014, 2015, 2017); the “Z krosna do Krosna” International Artistic Linen Cloth Biennial in the Museum of Crafts in Krosno (2016); the “Barwy i Faktury” 6th International Painting and Unique Textile Biennial in Gdynia, Poland (2011); the exhibition of contemporary textile in the National Museum in Gdańsk – Opatów Palace (1994); the exhibition of contemporary artistic textile in the Gdańsk Coast in the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, Poland (1993); the 6th Biennial of Art Gdańsk, Sopot, Poland (1987) and others. She has participated in several dozen open-air weaving sessions and exhibitions.
