Renata Jackowiak was born in Poznań, Poland. She graduated from the Faculty of Artistic Education and from the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts (now University of Arts) in Poznań, Poland. After graduation she started working at the universities in Poznań. She completed her doctorate in the Faculty of Textile and Fashion Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland, specialising in unique textile. Since 2012 she has worked as an assistant professor in the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. She runs a graduate course workshop on proprietary products. She is interested in the structure of objects and its influence on the organisation of space. Her works are not of the representational character. They only represent Renata’s feelings inspired by sense of touch and sight. Those two senses complement each other and intensify sensations. They are changed into language of structures and are visualised in the form of unique textile and miniature textile. Her lifework comprises a dozen solo exhibitions and over 100 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
