Biography:
Born in Kołobrzeg, lives and works in Gdańsk. She is strongly attached to the sea – its soundscape, its movement, how it affects solid matter. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk [Faculty of Sculpture and Intermedia Art, obtained a PhD degree in 2014 - in Prof. Katarzyna Józefowicz’s studio]. She is not employed at the academy, but works as a translator and a teacher. Her fascination with the interreflection: word/meaning/reality forms her creative thought and practice. Her artistic interests focus on space reflected in record [objects, installation, sound, video] – she works on such issues as materiality of written word, the process of recording/reading, substances that convey meaning; she co-organizes workshop projects at the Borderland Centre in Krasnogruda.
Motto: Te phenomenon of record is something spatial, material, formally inspiring; it is real and at the same time it exists out of time - inscrutable. (Artist?s translation)
